Together with ICANN and the Ministry of Information Communication and Technology, we organized this workshop to empower Namibian youth with deeper knowledge and understanding of the internet ecosystem and how it functions. Additionally, the workshop also aimed at strengthening Internet Governance matters in Namibia by creating local youth networks that will benefit from ISOC & ICANN leadership through training made locally in partnership with national stakeholders of the Internet (state, private sector, civil society).
This workshop provided an opportunity chapter to deepen youth engagement in the Internet Ecosystem as the youth are key in the Internet ecosystem.
The response and feedback from this engagement, require the chapter to host follow-up trainings or similar training to ensure meaningful contribution to the internet ecosystem through engagement in the policy and the development of the internet locally. In addition, initiatives such as YouthComm enable the youth to drive the trust in the internet as well as prepare them for active participation on different platforms internet technology and policy platforms.
