 ent and like in 2017\, the chapter once again presented on Internet Societ
 y strategy and also informed the participants about membership which is fo
 r free.\n\nThis platform provides an opportunity for chapter ongoing engag
 ements with the Programming Community who are core in the internet ecosyst
 em and highlight they key concerns\, challenges and lessons related to the
  policy development and the technology of the internet.\n\nThe next Pycon 
 Namibia is scheduled for 19-21 February 2019.\n\nThe chapter sponsorship i

DESCRIPTION:Date: 26-27 February 2018\nParticipants: 50\n\nTogether with IC
 ANN and the Ministry of Information Communication and Technology\, we orga
 nized this workshop to empower Namibian youth with deeper knowledge and un
 derstanding of the internet ecosystem and how it functions. Additionally\,
  the workshop also aimed at strengthening Internet Governance matters in N
 amibia by creating local youth networks that will benefit from ISOC &amp\;
  ICANN leadership through training made locally in partnership with nation
 al stakeholders of the Internet (state\, private sector\, civil society).\
 n\nThis workshop provided an opportunity chapter to deepen youth engagemen
 t in the Internet Ecosystem as the youth are key in the Internet ecosystem
 .\n\nThe response and feedback from this engagement\, require the chapter 
 to host follow-up trainings or similar training to ensure meaningful contr
 ibution to the internet ecosystem through engagement in the policy and the
  development of the internet locally. In addition\, initiatives such as Yo
 uthComm enable the youth to drive the trust in the internet as well as pre
 pare them for active participation on different platforms internet technol
 ogy and policy platforms.

DESCRIPTION:Participants:  35 + 37 \n\n72 participants todate have attende
 d the IETF Viewing Hub 101 and 102. The purpose of the remote hub is to pr
 omote the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in Namibia country with 
 the aim to identify individuals who could contribute to the work at IETF
  from Africa at global level. The Hubs also aim to raise awareness on the
  IETF and allow those who cannot travel to a meeting to experience the o
 ngoing of a live event meeting.\n\nWhile the first IETF meeting took place
  in London and the and meeting taking place in London\, Namibian participa
 nts  for the first time took part in the discussions and practical worksh
 ops on setting up the standards of the internet.\n\nTodate\, we have creat
 ed a data base of  technical and engineers of the internet in Namibia fro
 m the  participants whom have attended IETF hubs\, with the aim to engage
  them and open them up to more information and opportunities on the IETF. 
 We hope to work on creating avenues where members and and participants can
  participate confidently and speak on the Engineering part of the Internet

SUMMARY:Online Violence Against Women Panel Discussion 2018
DESCRIPTION:Participants: 50\n\nViolence against women online has become an
  increasing issue of concern in Namibia\, and hence there was a need to ra
 ise awareness\, especially on Women’s Month. In collaboration with the N
 amibia Women in Computing ISOC Namibia organized this panel discussion tha
 t amongst others highlighted legislation and legal instruments in curbing 
 online violence but also to make local partnerships and create local call 
 to speak out against online violence. The panel included a representative 
 from UNICEF\, the ICT Regulatory Authority\, Office of the First Lady as w
 ell as the Dean of the Faculty of Computing &amp\; Informatics.\n\nThis pa
 nel discussion interactions reveal a deeper need to continue deepening adv
 ocacy on the safety of women online and the chapter seeks to continue enga
 gement and discuss further with other stakeholders the extent of this kind
 s of violence and identify ways to fill the existing gaps as well as formu
